I worked to help independance organise a seminar as part of the studio re-launch funded by SITA trust. The idea was to create an opportunity for an informal discussion on developing strategies for participation and to present independence’s achievements in engaging young women in dance and supporting their interest through qualifications and employment opportunities. The event took place at Studio B on Friday 26th June 2015.
The seminar focused on areas where independance has demonstrated a clear impact in using dance as a method of engagement with young people and examined the links to:
- Sports and the government’s push to increase participation in physical activity.
- Education/Learning & Skills Agenda
- Key Commissioning Strategies for the Local Authorities and the NHS
